The Republic - Nich Richardson

Nich Richardson

Nich Richardson earnt his stripes by writing online shorts before co-writing and performing in the Logie-nominated satirical documentary, Mr Firth Goes To Washington (SBS, 2008).

Under Manic Studios/The Republic Nich wrote several shorts including The War Room (a behind the scenes look at the Australian government, 2007) and What Have The Unions Ever Done For Us, which became internationally successful and led to Nich travelling to the USA and co-writing six commercial virals for the Communication Workers of America (2008), playing a small, but he likes to think pivotal, role in the election of Barack Obama.

However he soon tired of internet obscurity, and set his focus on television. In 2008 he co-wrote a pilot for The Edugandapanda Show Show before co-writing and starring in Mr. Firth Goes To Washington, a comedy documentary about the '08 American elections, which was nominated for a Logie in the category of Most Outstanding Comedy of 2008.

2009 has seen the ABC develop his latest sitcom Writer To Fix. He is currently working on The Complete and Utter History of Australia, a ten-episode comedy series about Australian history that is considered so definitive that after it airs, anything not included will have ceased to have ever happened.
